ENSLAVED Wins Norwegian 'Spellemann' Award
January 26, 2009For the third time in five years, ENSLAVED was honored in the "Metal" category at the Spellemann awards (the Norwegian equivalent to the Grammy Awards). The largest and oldest Norwegian music awards show was held this past Saturday, January 24 at the Spektrum in Oslo, Norway and was broadcast live on the Norwegian channel TV2.
The nominees in the "Metal" category were as follows:
BENEA REACH - "Alleviat" (Tabu Recordings)
ENSLAVED - "Vertebrae" (Indie Recordings)
KEEP OF KALESSIN - "Kolossus" (Indie Recordings)
Commented ENSLAVED: "We're very honored to get our third Grammy. The party was good, we had a good time. We think the Grammy commitee was very generous giving all the artist two whole pitchers of ice water and selling 0,3 liters of flat beer for 7,5 euros in the bar. Luckily, we robbed a bank on our way there and could afford getting absolutely smashed. We're having a rough Monday here. Thanks!"

ENSLAVED was previously honored for the "Ruun" (2006) and "Isa" (2004) albums.
